What is PokéBonk?

PokéBonk is a free 3D Pokémon survivor roguelite built for the browser. You drop into a pixel-art region with a partner, fight wild Pokémon waves, level up and face a boss every five minutes. It runs in the browser with WebGL: no download and nothing to buy. Seen it typed as Pokebonk? Same game.

A run is a short loop: survive three zones, choose an upgrade each level and build until the final swarm. Between runs you grow your League, unlock evolutions, hunt shiny variocolor Pokémon and climb leaderboards. All 151 Kanto Pokémon are in, and the interface supports nine languages, English included. Open the game and take one run.

  • 3D pixel world

PokéBonk tips and strategies

These habits turn two-minute runs into twenty-minute ones. No account required, just patience. New to the game? Read the how-to-play guide first.

  • Slide, don't stroll

Shift is your best friend: a quick slide dodges most telegraphs for free. Keep moving between attacks.

  • Play the type chart

Grass, Fire and Water synergies matter. Build around your starter, not every random upgrade.

  • Save the Ultimate

R is an emergency button and a boss killer. Save it for when a wave surrounds you.

  • Never skip an item ball

Balls, berries and free upgrades add up. A safe detour now pays off later.

  • Shop smart at Meowth's

The shop only stays 45 seconds. Know what your build needs before you walk in.

  • Try Survival for score

Classic is for League progress; Survival is the endless mode with its own leaderboard for personal bests.

Progression, evolutions and the League

PokéBonk is a roguelite, but not a reset-every-time game. Your starter is the first member of your League, which grows as you complete challenges and capture partners. Evolutions happen mid-run and change how a build plays, while rare variocolor shinies are the long chase.

Between runs you research Pokémon in the Lab, fill the 151-entry Pokédex, clear tasks and earn Stardust, the meta-currency for permanent upgrades. Season 1, GEN 1, runs on short seasons with leaderboards for KOs, Survival and clans, so there is always a reason to return.

  • League

Finish each starter's challenge to recruit the other two partners.

  • Evolutions and shinies

Evolve partners during a run; shiny variants are rare, cosmetic and worth the hunt.

  • Stardust and the Lab

Spend Stardust on research that makes your next runs smoother.

  • Seasons and leaderboards

Short seasons with KO, Survival and clan leaderboards.

Check the current game version

The game updates on its own server. This guide does not pin a build. Check the version badge inside the game and read our dated version observations for sources and verification limits.

PokéBonk accounts and saving progress

The game host offers Play as a guest. Its current welcome screen says progress is saved on the server and tied to this device. This website does not create, store or recover your game profile. Use Save to account in the game menu to see the host’s account options.

Embedded and direct-site sessions may differ because browsers partition third-party storage. Never assume a guest save transfers between them. Keep your game credentials in a password manager and verify your profile before switching devices. Common account questions are answered in the FAQ.

  1. Click Play as a guest, or open the account menu in the game.
  2. Choose Save to account for a permanent profile.
  3. Pick a trainer name and a password you can remember.
  4. Use the same details to sign back in on another browser.

PokéBonk FAQ

What is PokéBonk?

PokéBonk is a free 3D Pokémon survivor roguelite that runs in your browser. Pick a Kanto starter, survive waves of wild Pokémon, level up with upgrades, beat a boss every five minutes and capture partners for your League. It has Classic and Survival modes and nine languages.

Is Pokebonk free to play online?

The game host currently describes PokéBonk as free, non-profit, with no ads, purchases or donations. Guest play is available. Loading time depends on the host, connection and device; we do not guarantee a fixed startup time.

Do I need a PokéBonk account to play?

No. Choose Play as a guest and start immediately. An account is optional and mainly matters for leaderboards, clans and friends. The host says guest progress is saved on its server and tied to your device. Use Save to account in the game menu. Embedded and direct-site guest sessions may be separate.

Can I recover my PokéBonk password?

Not automatically. PokéBonk accounts use a trainer name and password, and no email is collected, so there is no reset link. Choose something memorable, keep it in a password manager, and note that the game cannot recover a forgotten password for you.

Which starter should I choose in PokéBonk?

Pick the playstyle you enjoy. Bulbasaur is a healer with Synthesis, the friendliest pick while learning. Charmander brings fiery area damage with Sea of Flames. Squirtle is the defender, using Torrent Shell to survive. Your starter is your first League member; the other two join later.

What are the controls in PokéBonk?

On desktop, WASD moves, the mouse looks around, Space jumps, Shift slides or dodges, R fires your Ultimate, E interacts or captures, and right click locks a target. Q aims, Esc pauses and P pauses in fullscreen. Gamepads work, and mobile uses a joystick with on-screen buttons.

Can you play PokéBonk on mobile?

Yes, but landscape is strongly recommended. Touch controls give you a joystick on the left, drag to look around, pinch to zoom, and buttons for jump, slide, Ultimate, lock and interact. On a portrait phone the action gets cramped, so rotate your device or hit fullscreen first.

What is the difference between Classic and Survival mode?

Classic is the structured mode: clear zones, build your run, beat bosses and progress your League and starter challenges. Survival is the endless mode with its own leaderboard, where you stay alive and score as high as possible. Play Classic to unlock content, then Survival for a personal best.

Does PokéBonk support controllers?

Yes. PokéBonk supports gamepads on desktop alongside keyboard and mouse: WASD moves, the mouse aims, Space jumps, Shift slides and R casts your Ultimate. On phones the game uses touch controls with a joystick, drag-to-look and on-screen buttons.
